The Times Higher Education (THE) recently released the list of the top most international universities in the world. The universities were ranked based on the proportion of international students, international staff and journal publications, according to Forbes.

Below is the list of the top 5 most international universities in the world according to THE.

ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich

This school has always been among the top universities worldwide. It has been considered as a leader in research and education. As leading international university, it displays an international outlook. Around 60 percent of the faculty members of the school come from various parts of the world, according to Top Universities. It has more than 18,000 students from 120 countries around the world.

Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne or Swiss Institute of Technology Lausanne

This is a public university that specializes in research. It started as small college, with only 11 students in 1869. This university excels in teaching engineering and research. Lately, it has included life sciences. It acquired the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer.

University of Hong Kong

Ranking third is the University of Hong Kong. It is the oldest learning institution in the Hong Kong Territory. It has been recognized as an international school that focuses on research. The university possesses an international outlook as evidenced by the diversity of its students.

National University of Singapore

Ranked fourth is the University of Singapore. This is also the number one school in Asia. It is known for its branches in Silicon Valley, Beijing, Shanghai, Israel Munich, Lausanne and New York. Imperial College of London

This university is known for its excellent science education. It has 14 Nobel Prize Winners. Among them is Sir Alexander Fleming who discovered penicillin. With international students facing issues regarding their visa in the US, it is most likely that the number of international students will increase in these universities.
