Internship Fairs for Colleges and Universities Kick Off

By

Internship fairs are now being held in the different colleges and universities all over the country. This year's internship fairs are held in preparation for the spring and summer terms. Graduating students can now apply for on-the-job training in the different companies that will join the fair.

Joining internship fairs exposes students to the application process. They will know how to prepare an effective resume. The interviews will improve students' self-confidence. They will also gain insights as to what questions are asked during interviews.

In George Washington University, around 100 employers are expected to be present during the Internship Fair for the year 2017. Students and alumni are invited to join. They can file their application to whichever company offers positions relevant to their course, according to GW Today.

The internship Fair will enable students to discover new employers and new internship opportunities. The companies can become part of a student's network of possible job contacts in the future.

In some internship fairs, employers who come are interested in hiring interns from the university alone. This means that aspirants who graduated in other schools cannot participate. This is true with Berkely University of California where most employers only prefer students from the university, according to Berkeley University of California Career Center.

Georgia Institute of Technology expects more than 100 employers to grace its Career Fair 2017 this February 2. These employers will hire people for their internship program while other companies may offer regular jobs to those who have already graduated. Companies prefer students and graduates of GIT. Proof is the fact that 100 companies have registered and 89 were still on the waiting list, according to Georgia Tech.

Internship Fairs are expected to provide students with experience needed to land a job after graduation. In addition, students learn how to make resumes and application letters that can get attention of employers. The actual interview prepares them for job interviews in the future.
