IBM Security is about to get more serious about cybersecurity business. IBM Security this week announced the acquisition of Agile 3 Solutions, a cybersecurity visualization startup, for an undisclosed amount.

To Help Executives Get Greater Visibility into Security Risks and Better Knowledge of Cyberthreats
Cybersecurity is getting too much attention these days and has now become a board-level issue. As a result, there is an increasing need for the C-level executives to better understand their security stance through the lens of business risk.

To keep up with the latest cyberthreats, IBM, according to TechCrunch, has decided to acquire San Francisco-based Agile 3 Solutions, a developer of software used by senior executives to better visualize and manage risks associated with the protection of sensitive data.

San Francisco-based Agile 3 Solutions, according to the company's LinkedIn profile, offers a comprehensive, business-friendly dashboard and intuitive data risk control center that can uncover, visualize and analyze data-related business risks and take proactive action against such risks.

In a recent IBM press release, the Armonk-based company said that the latest acquisition will give a big boost to IBM Security's portfolio and capabilities. The addition of Agile 3 Solutions also provides a tool to improve C-suite decision-making as businesses prepare to defend themselves against all type of cyber threats.

To Improve Guardium Data Security and Protection Platform
Cybersecurity, according to Fortune, is one of IBM's top priorities for today's fast-evolving IT landscape. The others are the cloud computing and the Watson data crunching technology.

IBM has experienced tough times in its security business, which has seen sales drop 19 consecutive quarters as the company's software licensing and server business has declined amid changing IT landscape.

By acquiring the tiny San Francisco-based cybersecurity start-up, IBM Security is poised to improve its security portfolio, which in turn offer its clients the ability to defend themselves against all kinds of cyber threats.

As part of the deal, IBM will integrate Agile 3 technology into IBM Data Security Services and to the company's data protection software IBM Guardium.

With Agile 3's integration, IBM will now able to help customers around the world in implementing and managing their various critical data protection.

The Agile 3's acquisition is said to enhance the company's data security and protection platform IBM Guardium, which IBM claimed can analyze, monitor and protect sensitive data.
