WWE Smackdown results showed two high profile matches in Randy Orton vs WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose and The Miz vs WWE World Champion AJ Styles. At the start of the show, Miz and Styles engaged in a word war that led to Shane McMahon making their match.

According to Wrestle View, John Cena was on commentary for the first match of WWE Smackdown results. In the Miz/Styles match, he proved to be the difference as the match was thrown off when Styles threw Miz onto Cena. Cena then delivered an Attitude Adjustment to both AJ Styles and The Miz to send a message that he is coming for the WWE World Title.

According to Wrestling Inc, WWE Smackdown results continued when the problems within the Wyatt family continued as Luke Harper tried to interfere in Orton's match against Ambrose. Orton waved him off, saying he got the match covered until Ambrose rolled him up for the victory. After the match, Orton and Harper once again came into blows with Bray Wyatt serving as the peacemaker. Wyatt would then announce that the two of them would face each other next week on WWE Smackdown.

In the King's Court segment of WWE Smackdown results, Jerry Lawler brought out his guest Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler continued his attitude change when he showed footage of four years ago when he repeatedly gave Lawler an elbow drop that led to his heart attack minutes later. The segment ended with Ziggler giving Lawler a superkick when Lawler called him a loser.

The main event of WWE Smackdown results saw Becky Lynch challenging Alexa Bliss for the WWE Smackdown Women's title inside a steel cage. The ending saw La Luchadora once again interfere and cause Becky the match when she had Alexa in her finishing move.
