The phased-manner rollout of OxygenOS 4.0.2 has been started rolling out for OnePlus handsets and the well-received OnePlus 3T is next in the list. Checkout the changes and added features that the update will bring to the handset!

OxygenOS 4.0.2 Update Nougat-Based Rollout to OnePlus 3T

Previously, the OxygenOS 4.0 was the much anticipated update for OnePlus 3T but it didn't happened. According to Droid Life, this time it would be the Nougat-based OxygenOS 4.0.2 that will roll out to OnePlus 3T in just a matter of days however, it is anticipated to come with critical bugs because it will come as a newly build.

Since the OxygenOS 4.0.2 update will be in incremental manner, users are advised not to expect it immediately. OnePlus 3T owners are advised to check the update from their phone's Settings every morning if possible.

Accordingly, the change log for OxygenOS 4.0.2 is almost identical to OxygenOS 4.0 except of course from the additional features and fixes for couple of bugs discovered from the Proximity Sensor and Google Play Store and APN settings for selected carriers. Some of the changes brought by Nougat include new notifications design, added status bar icon options, custom DPI support, new settings menu design, notification direct reply and multi-window view.

Moreover, OxygenOS 4.0.2 update also brings the following: increased system stability, fixed Google Play store download bug, fixed proximity sensor bug during calls, updated APN settings for select carriers and improved shelf customization. On the other hand, the update is considered to be not perfect since Wi-Fi connectivity might still fluctuate as well as battery draining issues as clarified by OnePlus, Android Authority reported.

In another report, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are rumored to have received unfinished release of Nougat. For this reason, OnePlus owners have kept on complaining regarding the bugs that pointed out to a build's poor performance; however, with the new software update, complains are expected to be eliminated most especially when it comes to bugs.
