After seeing his playing time decrease, Rajon Rondo met with Chicago Bulls GM Gar Forman to discuss his role with the team moving forward. The point guard has expressed his frustration with head coach Fred Hoiberg benching him, most recently in the Bulls' 20-point loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

According to ESPN, Rajon Rondo will seek a new team if he continues to get benched. Fred Hoiberg did acknowledge that the lineup change was just temporary and he is still finding ways to win since the Bulls are currently outside of the playoffs if it were to start today.

The Bulls insist this has nothing to do with Rondo's one-game suspension for throwing a towel at assistant coach Jim Boylen. Fred Hoiberg has had no issues with Rajon Rondo, who is well-received by the organization because of his off-the-court activities. He led the NBA in assists last season with 11.7 APG playing for the Kings but he is at 7.1 APG this year at five fewer minutes.

Rajon Rondo was also benched for the second half of the Bulls' loss to the Paces as Hoiberg elected to keep Michael Carter-Williams on the floor instead. Rondo said Hoiberg often asked him if he was healthy because he looked slow in recent stretches of games.

If Rajon Rondo remains out of the Bulls' rotation close to the February trade deadline then the Bulls will certainly entertain Rondo's request to be traded to another team according to the Chicago Tribune. Rondo plays best when playing with the second unit even though Jerian Grant already owns that position. Rondo plays best with shooters and the team's shooters - Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott both come off the bench.
