Xiaomi just launched two variants of the latest Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G, an upgrade from its Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air released last July. Though 4G connectivity is an innovative addition complemented by impressive specs, the laptop hardly equals the MacBook Air primarily because of its TN screen panel, appearing dull and not as bright as Apple's IPS panel.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G is the newest laptop of Xiaomi, set to be released in China just like its predecessor. Here are the specs and features of the two variants.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G 12.5-Inch Variant

The 12.5-inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G kept its full HD display resolution with an Intel Core M3 processor. It has a 4GB of LPDDR3 Ram at 1,860 MHz and 128GB SSD internal memory, expandable via another SSD slot.

It is 12.99mm thick, weighs 1.07 kg., and reported to have a battery that lasts for 11.5 hours. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G 12.5-inch variant also comes with the HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, USB type-C port, and the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G 13.3-Inch Variant

The 13.3-inch variant also has the same display as the 12.5-inch variant. However, it comes with the sixth generation Intel Core i7 clocking 3.0GHz, reportedly a 10 percent improvement over the Core i5 processors of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook air non-4G according to Gadgets360.

It also has the Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU with 16GB of GDDRS VRAM, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and as much as 256GB PCle SSD, expandable with another SSD slot. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G 13.3-inch variant is 14.8mm thick, weighs 1.28 kg., and has a battery life of 9.5 hours.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G Connectivity & Audio

Like what its name suggests, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G utilizes the Sim card connectivity like what tablets do when connecting to the net. The laptop has Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, AKG dual speakers and the Dolby Digital surround sound.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G Price and Release Date

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G 12.5-inch is estimated to cost around $680 dollars while the 13.3-inch is at $1,000 dollars. The two variants are available in China with no official announcements if the laptops will get a release in India or worldwide, India Today has learned.

Moreover, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G like its namesake, the MacBook Air, could have been equals if not for the TN screen panel of the Chinese laptop. The American laptop has the latest IPS screen panel able to show clear, bright and alive colors.
