Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge Black Pearl Variant Is ‘Modern-looking’ Phone For Fashion, Tech Lovers

Samsung announced a new color option for its highly-acclaimed Galaxy S7 Edge. The glossy black color variant of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is launched in selected markets in South Korea which started on Dec. 9.

In terms of specs, the jet black variant of the Galaxy S7 Edge, tagged as "Black Pearl," is said to be similar to other S7 Edge models, except that it will carry an exclusive 128GB internal memory.

Image renders of the Galaxy S7 Edge in the new color option were leaked by a Chinese tipster last November. Coincidentally, Samsung introduced its own Jet Black color option after Apple's Jet Black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus release.

According to MacRumors, the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy Note 7's Black Onyx finish will be different from the Black Pearl. Samsung Electronics suggested that the colorway "radiates quality and luxury."

In a statement, the company said, "Black Pearl was designed to be modern and striking. The sleek black finish blankets the entire device - edges and all - and adds depth to its glass design. The result is a stylish all-black aesthetic that captures the essence of the color in its purest form."

Samsung furthered that the Galaxy S7 Edge Black Pearl variant features a full-body black finish, including the metal edges.

ValueWalk reported that with the high-end Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone originally released in four colors, the White Pearl color, the Black Onyx, the Silver Titanium, and the Gold Platinum, the smartphone will now enter the market in seven finishes, including the Blue Coral, Pink Gold, and the Black Pearl variants.

However, although the Black Pearl is bound to be popular among consumers brought by iPhone's own Jet Black iPhone 7, rumors indicate that the new color variant might not come as widely available as the previous Blue Coral shade. Latest rumors suggest that the said variant might remain exclusive to the South Korean market.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is the latest entry in the Samsung Galaxy S7 series, which is a successor to the previous 2015 Samsung Galaxy models, the S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+. The mentioned smartphones sport a display size of 5.1 inches for the Galaxy S7 and a 5.5-inch display for the Galaxy S7 Edge variant.
