OnePlus Android Nougat Update Rolls Out In December? Next Phone 3T On Nov. 15, Bears Same Processor As Google Pixel?

By

OnePlus Inc. is reported to be having a slight delay in rolling out the new Android Nougat updates. Given the fact that most smartphones run the Android OS, the Google Android updates are much-anticipated by nearly all phone users. With several phone manufacturers  started featuring the tweaked version of Android OS, such as the Oxygen OS, OnePlus' lack of indication of a likely roll out of new updates seems to be a little disappointing for the fans.

The current Android OS update in the market is 7.0 Android Nougat found in some recent releases and latest Google phones. In previous reports, OnePlus was quick in launching the Android Nougat beta testing version in August this year. Following this, a number of benchmark websites have reportedly begun sharing details of beta testing on the manufacturer's devices. One of these is from Geekbench that showed the performance rating of the smartphones after installing Android Nougat 7.0 and 7.1.

OnePlus 1 scored 976 in Single-core and 2521 in Multi-core after testing with Android 7.0. On the other hand, OnePlus 2 got a score of 1168 in the Single-core and 2694 in Multi-core when enhanced with Android Nougat 7.0, while also scored 715 in Single-core and 2922 for Multi-core when tested with Nougat 7.1. Moreover, OnePlus 3 performed best with Android Nougat 7.1 with 1747 score in Single-core and 4007 in Multi-core. The updates may likely roll out in December,  Tech Crunch reported.

Meanwhile, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to reveal the company's next model on Nov. 15. Based on leaks, the rumored device is called 3T, which may be an upgraded version of OnePlus 3, as announced in June.

OnePlus also confirmed via Twitter to bring Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. Meantime, the same 2.35GHz processor is featured in Google Pixel, along with support for Daydream VR.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei also confirmed via Twitter that 3T will still have the company's Optic AMOLED displays. This, however, is contrary to speculations that the firm is having problems sourcing these and plans to move to LCD instead, The Verge reported. Watch Android 7.0 Nougat on Oneplus One
