HTC Vive vs PlayStation VR vs Oculus Rift: HTC Vive To Showcase Updated VR Headset; Price, Specs [VIDEO]

The battle between the most efficient and better virtual reality (VR) in the market has started. With the HTC Vive, Sony's PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift, all competing eagerly for a piece of the action.

Just a few months after HTC and Valve Corporation released its virtual reality headset, HTC Vive, the virtual reality headset developers could already be gearing up to showcase an updated model. The senior vice president at HTC, Rikard Steiber, stated that new virtual reality headsets of Vive are being developed, and these devices would roll out with a form factor updates, according to Tech Crunch.

The senior vice president of HTC made it known that the new virtual reality headsets will have an improved arcade-style peripherals such as steering wheels and weapons. Steiber also claimed that the tech giant's VR headset should evolve, and HTC Vive would eventually fire up a Vive headsets with a better performance as well as design.

On the other hand, the Oculus Rift from Oculus Inc. (which was purchased by Facebook) and Sony's PlayStation VR are the main rivals of HTC Vive in the virtual reality world. The Vive headset was up for grabs in April, and the device is currently being sold for a price of $800, The Gamers Drop has learned.

Meanwhile, the Oculus Rift of Facebook comes along with a sleeker design, fabric coating on the exterior that gives its users a lighter feel. The other competitor, which is Sony's PlayStation VR headset, rolls out with an OLED display, which is split vertically, allowing the gadget to provide a resolution of 960 x 1080 on each eye.

The Rift's resolution is around 2160 x 1200 that is making a practical use of two OLED displays, that generates more pixels. The PlayStation VR can be purchased at a price of $400, while the Oculus Rift is $600.
