Windows 10 Newest 2-in1: Crowd-Designed Eve V 2-In-1 Machine Backed By Intel Flaunts Spec [Video]

By

Detailed specs of the crowd-designed Eve V have been released for the forthcoming Windows 10 2-in-1 machine.

After scoring a backing from Intel last month, the team behind the Eve V will kick off a campaign on Indiegogo seeking partners to finance the actual manufacturing costs. The group behind the project was clear in specifying that IndiGoGo users are actually paying for the manufacture and not the development of the product. The community page says the campaign will kick off at 4 pm GMT + 2 on Nov. 21 citing 500 devices will be available for purchase and will be shipped within the first months of 2017, according to the Eve Community Page.

Eve V is a possible competitor for Microsoft's 2-in-1 Surface laptop and will support the Surface Pen and possibly the new Surface Dial. Aside from the impressive spec lineup, the weak link, according to DigitalTrends is the GPU since the unit uses Intel's standard onboard HD chip. The report indicated though that Eve is working on a docking station as well as employing an external GPU that can be used for gaming support.

Much of the inputs of the Eve V will be similar to the Surface including the touchpad although, forget about using the Surface Keyboard, as the pins used are proprietary. It was also revealed that Eve V will be compatible with Mozo accessories.

Eve V is currently undergoing the electronics layout stage with the assistance of Microsoft, this is to ensure the unit will run Windows well on the machine.
