2016 Blizzcon ‘Diablo’ Update: Diablo 3 Getting Necromancer Class; What About ‘Diablo 4’? [VIDEO]

By

The upcoming 2016 Blizzcon event may reveal a new Necromancer Class for the "Diablo 3"; however, "Diablo 4" fans are hoping that Blizzard may give a hint about the highly anticipated game.

Necromancer Coming To "Diablo 3"

"Diablo 3" players are expecting that Blizzard will reveal the new Necromancer class during the 2016 Blizzcon event. Such expectation was prompted by a "leaked" image showing a male and female Necromancer that showed up in a Blizzard online store, according to Eurogamer. However, that image has now disappeared from the site but someone managed to get hold of a copy and distribute it to various online outlets such as imgur.

Necromancer Image - Is It Authentic?

There have been doubts about its authenticity but there are several factors that seemed to make this as a genuine article. First, the Necromancers appeared in the same official Blizzard site as Sombra from "Overwatch" and disappeared just as quickly. The drawing was signed by John Mueller who works as an art director for Blizzard. If it's fake, he would have issued a denial the minute he saw the image, but so far, he and Blizzard has remained silent on the issue.

Is This The Big Reveal For Diablo?

There have been speculations that Blizzard is planning a big reveal for the "Diablo" franchise ranging from a remastered release of an earlier Diablo game or the fourth installment for the "Diablo" series. The Necromancer image however, seemed to indicate that Blizzard is planning to release another playable class to the current "Diablo" installment.

The Necromancer is not exactly a brand new class since it was included as a playable class in "Diablo 2." However, it was replaced by the Witch Doctor in "Diablo 3." This time it seems Blizzard is planning to bring the Necromancer to "Diablo 3." Unfortunately, there is still no indication a "Diablo 4" reveal is going to happen at the 2106 Blizzcon event that is due to start on Nov. 4.
