'The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim' vs 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' – Which RPG Has Better Story, Characters, Gameplay, Immersion? [VIDEO]

By

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" and "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" are two popular role-playing games classified under the fantasy genre. The two RPGs seem like similar in many other ways but they differ in some ways such as story, characters, gameplay and immersion. Find out which one is better than the other.

Game Immersion

The snow-capped mountain found in the province of "Skyrim" makes someone's heart flutters as imagination runs wild and has quickness of breath, whereas the Nilfgaard in "Wild Hunt" feels like home because of the stunning scenery of the medieval-tapestry and wild colors everywhere. According to VG247, "Skyrim" is a place of imaginative fantasy whereas "Wild Hunt" offers real world imagery.

Based on the comparison of both worlds, it appears that "The Witcher 3" has an environment where players can fully immerse themselves without having to leave the situation in the real world. The case is different for "Skyrim" where players are introduced into a world full of fantasy without a touch of reality.

Story

"Skyrim's" narrative appears to be a common one because of its fairy-tale alike story, whereas "Wild Hunt" offers an in-depth story and a narrative which is tight controlled one wrapped in a pseudo-adult theme. In comparison, "Skyrim" is video game version of Dungeons and Dragons while "Wild Hunt" is a piece of literature that breaks the ordinariness of story-telling.

Gameplay

"The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" focuses on how the hero must become, while "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is focusing on crafting the whole story and not just focusing in one of the game's aspect. But as added by the same publication, "Skyrim" has constant and overwhelming quest logs whereas Wild Hunt runs smoothly.

In conclusion, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is the RPG that has better story, offer full immersion to the players and smoother gameplay. On the other hand, "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" still appears to be the most addictive RPG among the two because a certain Dr. Agon Born has published a bogus doctor's note excusing the players from school or work, according to Game Spot.
