Partnering with the largest video game event company ESL, Sony has unleashed a new tournaments feature on the PS4. With PlayStation Tournaments on PlayStation 4, a gamer will be able to find and participate in competitions organized by eSports company.

The first Major Tournament in North America that runs from Oct. 27 to Nov. 26 will come to the basketball simulation video game, "NBA 2K17." The "NBA 2K17" tournament will come along with Major Cup rounds every Saturday, wherein the top three winners of the competition will receive a prize pack that includes a PlayStation gear, DualShock 4, and much more.

The European PS4 owners can currently register for "FIFA 17," "NBA 2K17" and "WRC 5" tournaments. While "Project CARS," "Mortal Kombat X," "Tricky Towers," "Tumblestone" and more video games will receive tournaments soon, PlayStation LifeStyle reported.

Furthermore, in order to participate in the PlayStation Tournaments on PlayStation 4, a player needs a copy of the video game, as well as a PlayStation Plus subscription and an ESL account. A PlayStation 4 owner then needs to register for the tournament beforehand at ESL, and once an owner does, they will be automatically prompted when their time to compete comes, Engadget has learned.

That being said, Sony made it known that once tournaments are live, PlayStation 4 players can find them under Events on their PS4 system menu to view the details. The Japanese tech company also pointed out that there are many types of Tournaments and matches taking place, so game enthusiasts must check out the PlayStation Tournaments feature and compete.

ESL's Marcel Menge stated that they are incredibly excited to be able to offer the seamlessly integrated solution for the most passionate eSports fans. The mission of ESL is to bring competitive gaming to fans across the globe.
