The question about who will win in the fight of U.S. Swimmer Michael Phelps vs. South African Swimmer Chad le Clos on Tuesday, August 9. Now, Phelps bagged a total of 25 medals, and 21 of them are golds.

Phelps and le Chlos (were great rivals in swimming) were competing to win back the 200m butterfly, and both gave a thrilling duel in the pool, according to Independent UK. The South African swimmer seemed desperate to chase the U.S. swimmer. As a matter of fact, the Japanese swimmer, Masato Sakai, almost caught Phelps because the score of American swimmer is 1min 53.36 sec, just four hundredths of a second ahead to Sakai's score.

There were rumors that Phelps and le Clos hate each other. Apparently, before the game begins, the cameras caught Clos was staring down Phelps, according NY Mag. This could be the reason why audience anticipates their head-to-head match.

Meanwhile, le Clos' mother, Geraldine has been fighting against breast cancer since 2010, USA Today reported. She was forced to undergo  a double mastectomy and chemotherapy.

Despite the condition of his mother, both parents attended the swimming race. Chad blew kisses to his parents after he won the silver medal in 200-freestyle on Monday, August 8.

"I swim for not only my country, my coach and my teammates but I swim for my family as well. That last 50 meters I think about them," le Clos said.

His father, Bert, said that after he wowed the audience at the London Olympics 2012, their life has changed. Bert has even joked about Chad's achievement that it turned him into Kim Kardashian of swimming because he became famous in an instant.

Bert said he and his wife want to see their son compete with Phelps. For them, this event should not be missed.
