Renowned for its impressive front-facing camera, the Oppo F series handsets are among the best for selfie addicts. Now a successor is slated to make an appearance and it looks like the press is all set to glance at it.

The "s" possibly signifies selfie as the Oppo F1s sports a 16MP front-facing camera. The impressive selfie shooter packs an array of special filters and features exclusively for the selfie addicts. The upcoming handset from Oppo will come with an 8MP front-facing camera. The Chinese smartphone maker seems to have beefed up the front shooter of the F1s in a bid to grab business from those addicted to taking self portraits.

Oppo is currently giving out invites to an event slated to take place on Wednesday, August 3, where the Oppo F1s will be unveiled.

The handset will reportedly sport a fingerprint sensor nested under the home button (the Oppo F1 did not boast this feature). If rumors proved to be true, the F1s will come with the ability to unlock the phone with snap of a finger i.e. in mere .22 seconds, PhoneArena reported.

The aforementioned invite does not divulge much about the upcoming smartphone from Oppo. The writing simply says, "Step up the selfie revolution," and it's no secret by now that the Oppo F1s has a strong focus on photography.

Surprisingly, rumor mills too have remained mum swirling no speculations regarding the upcoming Oppo F1s.

As far as known details are concerned, the new Oppo smartphone is expected to continue F1's legacy in terms of impressive photography, classy performance coupled with brand-new features, AndroidAuthority reported.

Nevertheless, the Oppo F1s is expected to hit the store shelves with an extremely competitive price point. Oppo's F1 was the best-selling smartphone in the $225-300 price range in several countries this May, including Indonesia, Vietnam and India. Besides, the F1 was the second most popular handset in quite a few other markets.

Oppo Indonesia reportedly posted Oppo F1s picture, giving a glimpse of the upcoming handset's backside.

Details including specs, pricing and availability about the Oppo F1s are expected to be revealed on August 3.
