Samsung Galaxy On5 Price, Specs, Release Date in US: Handset to Arrive Via MetroPCS

This month, smartphone maker Samsung will release another mid-range device, Galaxy On5 in the US market. The smartphone will debut via MetroPCS alongside new LG smartphone.

Compared to Samsung Galaxy On7, On5 will have smaller dimensions and lower camera quality. The dual-SIM phone will use micro SIM cards.

Samsung Galaxy On5 specs

The mid-range smartphone is enhanced with plastic chassis with faux leather on the rear panel. With dimensions 142.30 x 72.10 x 8.50, it is reportedly having capable specs including 2,600 mAh battery cell and 3G /4G LTE cellular network. On the camera, Galaxy On5 will be equipped with 8 MP lens on its back camera and 5 MP for selfie camera. Selfie mode is said to include Wide Selfie and Gesture Selfie with beautifying effects.

On the screen display, the smartphone will have 5 inch display, 720 x 1280 pixels. The emerged news claimed that the handset will have 15 hours talk time.

Running on Android 5.1, Galaxy On5 has 1.5 GB RAM on board. Internal storage capacity 8 GB will be expandable using MicroSD up to 128 GB. The specs that Samsung installs on Galaxy On5 might be modest, compared to Galaxy S series.

The original price of Galaxy On5 is $129 but the budget-friendly smartphone offers $70 instant rebate, making it quite cheap with only $60. 

Samsung Galaxy On5 release date

The rumor on handset's release date will be on June 27 and will hit the US via T-Mobile's subsidiary, MetroPCS, PocketNow reported. MetroPCS has also launched LG Stylus 2 Plus in Taiwan and it is likely to launch both handsets in the US on the same date. However, LG's Stylus will have a higher price.

Carrier MetroPCS has not made any confirmation regarding the leak information on the device. Budget-concern Samsung fans will have to wait till the release date to find out more.
