Freddie Roach Confirms Training With Conor McGregor; Fighting Showdown Against Floyd Mayweather Heats Up [VIDEO]

By

McGregor himself stirred up rumors about a possible crossover fight by sharing a fan made battle poster on his Twitter feed. And while Roach revealed he has not heard any talk about the fight with Mayweather, he admitted that McGregor's camp asked for possible training sessions.

Below is the poster McGregor tweeted:

According to Boxing Scene report, when Radio Rahim asked if he could perhaps get McGregor in form for a boxing bout with Mayweather, Roach conceded. He said he did not know what level the Irishman is at the moment. He also added that he could not say anything without running unto him. What he knew was, McGregor was an excellent kick boxer because that was all he has seen of the fighter.

Obviously, any fight between the two at this point is doubtful. But that has not stopped both men spicing up the rumors. Mayweather seemed to be enjoying the word brawl when he told Fight Hype to keep their fingers crossed and that it may be a boxer against an MMA fighter. It was a name that was pitch to the boxer and that the talks might not be a rumor, he budged further.

Many obstacle buckles up the way to the alleged fight. The one most notable is the contract McGregor signed under UFC. Although, Irishman could plausibly buy out the contract, note his tense association with the company at the moment. He was thrown out from the UFC 200 bill when he threatened not to fulfill his media commitments. This could lead to an impending break up with the contract might see the Notorious boxed, despite of his marketability, Boxing Scene reported.

Earlier this year, McGregor was on the rim to become the first fighter in the history UFC to clutch two belts from two weight divisions all at the same time before Rafael Dos Anjos back out from UFC 196.
