Qualcomm's Snapdragon 450 mobile processor is reportedly in the works right now. This particular Qualcomm Snapdragon processor will be an additional member of the low-mid-range lineup that appears to target the upcoming entry-level mobile devices.
Internally, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 450 processor is coded SDM450. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 appears to be a toned-down version of the mid-tier Snapdragon 625 processor, Phone Arena reported.
As far as the records of the Snapdragon 625 are concern, the mid-tier chipset gathered an excellent feedback and is one of the in demand energy-efficient processors for the reason that it enables mobile devices to consecutively top the battery benchmark test. Considering the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset will have the same qualities like the Snapdragon 625, tech enthusiasts might expect a new generation of low-end mobile devices to have a longer battery life on a single charge.
The Snapdragon 450 processor is said to be clocked at 2.0 to 2.2 GHz while utilizing the same eight Cortex-A53 cores of Snapdragon 625. This could set the Snapdragon 450 processor apart from other Snapdragon 400 series siblings and could be closer to the Snapdragon 625. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 450 mobile processor might be a huge step up for mid-range mobile devices in terms of performance, Slash Gear reported.
Moreover, the Snapdragon 450 is said to be in the 14nm node process and the GPU of the chipset will be running at 600MHz. The 14 nanometer of the Snapdragon 450 will also point to the handset's serious power efficiency.
Qualcomm's upcoming mobile processor might not have the same X9 LTE modem like the Snapdragon 625. This LTE modem will allow download speeds up to 300Mbps and up to 150Mbps of uplink speed.
Nevertheless, Qualcomm did not pitch in any information regarding the price of the Snapdragon 450. Also, the release date of the Snapdragon 450 processor is still unconfirmed.
