Blake Griffin could be the next hot thing for the Boston Celtics at the end of the season as he is due to hit free agency in 2017. NBA rumors have linked the LA Clippers Power forward to a couple of teams in the association, including the Miami Heat and Bolton Celtics.
Griffin has been in good form this season and he's developed his game so much this year. He's become more disciplined than the guy we're familiar with, learning about being suspended for his off court issues, and he's been working hard on intensifying his game, especially from the middle of the court and behind the arc. Now, he has been drawing interest from around the league.
For the Celtics, Griffin's expanding abilities and his more obvious athletic supremacy makes him an asset to look forward to. He is tipped to make the best frontcourt pair in the league with Al Horford if the move works out.
Al Horford's average with the Hawks was 10.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.9 blocks, before signing with Boston. He's a great player, but many don't see him as a legitimate superstar yet. However, with Griffin pairing up with him upfront, his game is bound to improve considerably, and the duo may just become the most dangerous partnership in the league, to the utmost benefit of the Celtics.
Although, it is doubtful if the Clippers will be willing to lose one of their prime assets, despite his past injury concerns and previous inconsistencies. Doc Rivers may do everything within his power to make him stay. Griffin has also built a growing entertainment business in LA and may not be excited to move out of the city to Boston, leaving his business behind.
With the right offer, Griffin might just be on his way out of LA and the Clippers before next season despite all odds.
