"Justice League" is DC Extended Universe's contender to Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Avengers," and the former is looking to add more superheroes to the mix. So far, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash are all set to appear in "Justice League," but it appears there's one more addition to the squad.

When Rick Famuyiwa was announced to direct "The Flash," he started following twitter accounts of people connected to the DC Universe such as Zack Snyder, Mark Waid, Ben Affleck and Ray Fisher, to name a few; however, one odd addition to his following list was Channing Tatum. The actor is not known to be attached to any of Famuyiwa's films, so it's kind of hard to figure out why he would follow Tatum in the first place.

However, Movie Pilot theorizes that Tatum may be attached to portray Shazam in the DC Extended Universe. Tatum perfectly fits the role of Shazam who is, if anything, a kid at heart. The character is set to battle Black Adam, which will be played by Dwayne Johnson.

Tatum's rumored involvement with the DC Extended Universe puts into question his pending project with Marvel, which is the "Gambit" solo outing. The 36-year-old star is supposed to take on the titular role, with filming supposed to begin months ago. Unfortunately, the project has faced several roadblocks and was postponed for various reasons.

For one, Doug Liman, who was supposed to direct "Gambit," has exited the movie project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was a "mutual parting of ways" between Liman and 20^th Century Fox. Currently, the search for a new director is underway.

Another reason for the delay is that the script for "Gambit" is still not ready yet, producer Simon Kinberg stated. With all these troubles and uncertainties, has Tatum moved on to a different, more certain project?

In the meantime, filming for "Justice League" has wrapped up in London. The cast and crew celebrated their wrap up party in October, wherein the movie, directed by Zack Snyder, will premiere in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.

Jason Momoa and Amber Heard, on the other hand, have begun filming for the "Aquaman" solo movie.
