Spain and Netherlands are set to play the first Group B game of the 2014 World Cup, one of the three games set for Friday.  Mexico will face Cameroon at 12 p.m. ET, the first match of the day, and Chile will face Australia at 6 p.m. ET.

Spain's roster includes the "who's who of international soccer stars from the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Chelsea," and almost any player on its team can score a goal, according to the New York Times.

The Netherlands boast a fascinating mix of veterans such as Robin van Persie and Dirk Kuyt, and rookies. It is not clear if the team's coach, Louis van Gaal, will rely more on experience or youth.

Weather conditions are expected to be hot and sunny with the temperature reaching the mid-90s at the highest, according to Weather.com.

According to FIFA.com, the head referee will be Nicola Rizoli. Two fellow Italians and one Norwegian will serve as his three assistants.

Because of their victory in the last World Cup, Spain is expected to start their World Cup Campaign off to a winning start and defeat the Netherlands.

Spain has won its last three major international tournaments, a feat that has not been done before, the Times reported.
