Rockstar Graduation: Bon Jovi Awes Parents & Students With Surprise Performance [VIDEO]
Bon Jovi surprised the students of Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey during the graduation ceremonies on Tuesday morning. The rockstar suddenly appeared on stage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
Apparently, per Variety, the Farleigh Dickinson University students were the winners of an online contest led by the MTV network. The latter aimed at college graduations wherein participants tweeted their best college moments and tag their schools along with the hashtag #JBJReunionContest. Obviously, the winning school gets a surprise performance from Bon Jovi.
The music icon performed the song entitled "Reunion" from their latest album called "This House Is Not For Sale". Reportedly, the unsuspecting winners screamed, shouted, and jumped in their seats as the famous rocker walked on stage. To further illustrate, the lyrics included the phrases "make this the best of the rest of your days" and "go start your own revolution".
On the other hand, ABC News reported that the singer appeared first on "Good Morning America" before heading toward the big surprise. Bon Jovi took the locker rooms at MetLife Stadium as hiding spots. In it, he explained that the activity is part of a nationwide contest to have him perform at somebody's graduation.
Also included in the lyrics of the song's chorus is the line "write your song, sing along, and love your life." Bon Jovi said: "learn to laugh, dare to dance, touch the sky" as well. Lastly, he wants the youth to "take pictures each step of the way". In the end, he wished the students "good luck".
For the record, roughly 3,200 students from 54 countries and 40 states were in attendance at the Farleigh Dickinson University commencement exercises. The rockstar then shared that his children, Stephanie and Jesse, are also graduating college this week. Stephanie got her film degree while Jesse got his political science degree.
