Apple has confirmed a new iMac this year, which is designed for creative professionals. As the tech giant has started sending invites for its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2017 event, the company is expected to unveil its latest iMac 2017 model. The upcoming iMac 2017 is said to come along with the latest GPU and a Xeon Processor.

Apple CEO Tim Cook previously teased that there is a new iMac 2017 in their roadmap. Also, Software engineering Senior VP Craig Federighi and Apple's marketing head Phil Schiller confirmed that Apple is gearing up new higher specs of iMacs, with configurations aiming at pro users.

Nonetheless, the Cupertino based tech titan traditionally hosts a key event on the first day of its WWDC. Tech enthusiasts can expect in the event an updated version of tvOS, watchOS, macOS and iOS. Also, the tech company is expected to release new hardware update, such as iMac 2017 and the Siri Speaker, Mac Rumors reported.

The tech company is expected to unleash two new iMac 2017 variants this year, the 21.5-inch iMac as well as the 27-inch iMac Pro. Numerous reports are claiming that the two new iMacs will enter into production this month. Apple is expected to release the iMac 2017 variants in the second half of this year, Blasting News reported.

In terms of the iMac 2017 specs, the two new iMacs are anticipated to come along with server-grade hardware including Error Correcting Code (ECC) RAM. The iMac Pro 2017 variant is said to be equipped with a 64GB ECC RAM, up to 2TB NVMe SSD, a latest discrete graphics card and an Intel server chip Xeon E3-1285 v6, Apple Insider reported.

The next-gen iMacs are expected to feature Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C ports, wireless keyboards, along with Touch ID functionality and Touch Bar. Quanta Computer will manufacture both the iMac 2017 variants.
