Sasuke – the Long-Awaited PS4 4.5 Update Arrives Tomorrow with Boost Mode; Here’s What it Can Do

By

Sasuke is coming and it's not headed towards Konoha. The long awaited Sasuke update will finally head its way to PlayStation 4 tomorrow and owners of the console can hardly wait. The update, as reports have it, is packed with mighty goodies.

Sasuke is a very famous name, especially for hardcore Naruto fans. But for PS4 owners, Sasuke is the codename for the most-awaited PS4 4.5 update. It's slated to start rolling out tomorrow, March 9, PC Mag reported, and it comes with a bunch of goodies which include improved 2D images, voice chat for remote play, and even a brand new feature called Boost Mode.

It was previously announced that the Sasuke update will bring external HDD support and even custom wallpapers. But the Boost Mode is perhaps the biggest take away as it will improve the performance of certain games on PS4 Pro (take note that it's only for certain games on PS 4 Pro). For game titles which have not been updated with PS 4 Pro's extra fast CPU and GPU, the Boost Mode will bridge the gap.

According to Sony's Vice President, the Boost Mode will provide noticeable frame rate boost and stabilize frame rates for games with varying FRs, especially for titles which were only developed to carry out at 30 or 60 Hz. The Boost Mode will increase CPU speed, which means there will be shorter load times.

Moreover, the Sasuke update will bring Off Console Availability, a little feature that will tell everybody you aren't at home, Bleeding Cool reported. In addition to the Sasuke update is the External HDD Support, which offers more storage space allowing PS 4 and PS 4 Pro owners to use external hard drives on their consoles.

Finally there's the Improved 2D Images for PS VR to boost game graphics on the virtual reality headset. The Sasuke update will bring more than what's listed here and it's about time. The last update for PS4 was rolled out December last year but it wasn't really promising.
