It seems like Microsoft is taking its time on developing the successor for HoloLens and is reportedly skipping out HoloLens 2 to go straight to version 3. While significant changes are expected from the device, Beyoncé is reportedly unimpressed with its competitor the Magic Leap. See full details here!

There Will Be No HoloLens 2

Microsoft HoloLens is the first of its kind in the industry and although it didn't became a blockbuster hit all because it was relatively expensive, fans are expecting a second-generation of the device. However, it seems like the Redmond-based tech firm is taking advantage of a comfortable lead and is taking its time to develop the device's successor.

For this matter, of what is supposed to be the HoloLens 2 in 2017 will become the HoloLens 3 in 2019. According to Wearable, significant changes are expected on the third version of the mixed-reality headset which includes sleeker design, processing power and wider field view.

Aside from the significant changes, the consumers are also expecting a retail version of Microsoft HoloLens 2 (or the presumed version 3). This is because of the fact that HoloLens is currently available in developer's price which is $3,000; thus, the next version is anticipated to be ready in both specs and price.

On the other hand, while other viewed VR platforms today as the most significant change in the gaming and entertainment industry, Microsoft say otherwise. According to the company's spokesperson, Microsoft HoloLens is the future and present of mixed reality and emphasizes that their commitment does not need a road map.

Magic Leap is HoloLens Closest Rival

Mixed reality is the trend that was set by Microsoft HoloLens and Magic Leap is the only closest rival the headset could have in the market. The Verge reported that Magic Leap could further behind HoloLens in the field of augmented reality but it seems like the otherwise because aside from the fact that the company has not showed any technology to prove the claim, the popular singer Beyoncé is reportedly unimpressed during her private demo.
