Porn Industry On Second Hiatus In Four Months After Another Star Tests Positive For HIV

By

The porn industry will go on hiatus for the second time in four months after another actor tested positive for HIV, the Daily Mail reported. The industry's trade group, the Free Speech Coalition (FSC), announced its decision on Friday.

"There was a positive test at one of our testing centers. We are taking every precaution while we do research to determine if there's been any threat to the performer pool," said FSC CEO Diane Duke. "We take the health of our performers very seriously and felt that it was better to err on the side of caution while we determine whether anyone else may have been exposed."

Standard procedure dictates additional testing for all performers and an investigation into the positive case's previous partners on screen.

'We are taking every precaution while we do research to determine if there's been any threat to the performer pool,' Duke said.

The last pornographic shutdown occurred in September when a 28 year-old actress tested positive.

She also happened to share a common movie partner with Syndey Leathers, famous for her sexts with former congressman Anthony Weiner. Leathers insisted she does not have HIV and hasn't been exposed to it, according the Daily News.

'Whether this performer was infected in L.A. County or not, this latest news begs the question: how many people need to become infected with HIV for the County of Los Angeles to engage actively in implementing the will of the voters of LA county to protect these performers?' said Aid Healthcare Foundation chief Michael Weinstein.

Weinstein is referring to mandatory condom use in adult videos, a hot issue in the industry. That policy was first attempted nine years ago and resulted in massive revenue losses. A new law was also passed in September and created the same drop in profits. As a result, many producers don't follow the law, according to CNN.
