A new smartphone from Samsung has been spotted on a benchmarking database Geekbench this week. The new Samsung device that has made an appearance on the popular Geekbench database is the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017), which said to be the flagship of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J (2017) lineup.

The information on Geekbench reveals that the model number of the impending Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) handset is SM-J727P, Android Headline reported. But the most interesting story about the new device is that it's running on the latest version of Android OS-- Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Specs And Features
According to GSM Arena, the leaked Geekbench information for the Samsung SM-J727P reveals that the smartphone is currently being tested on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Powering the new smartphone will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which is clocked at 2.21 GHz.

The SoC has the Adreno 506 GPU built-in and the phone runs on 2GB of RAM, that's the same just the same with the previous version, Galaxy J7 (2016). Still, the more powerful processor is a marked big improvement compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 in the previous model.

Earlier rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) might feature a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display along with a 13MP rear-facing main camera, 5MP front-facing shooter, and a smaller 3000mAh battery. That power capacity would be 10 percent smaller than the previous build Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). Fans are hoping that the battery rumor is incorrect and that Samsung will equip the Galaxy J7 (2017) with a more powerful battery.

According to Android Headlines, the previous model of the Samsung Galaxy J7 featured a massive 16 GB of storage along with an option to expand to 128 GB via a microSD card. Fans are also hoping that Samsung will equip the Galaxy J7 (2017) with that optional storage feature and increase its onboard storage capacity to 32 GB.

Unfortunately, it still not known when the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) will be introduced by Samsung in the market. The Korean giant is yet to announce the official release date of the device, but this won't come as a surprise anymore, as the new Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) device has already received Wi-Fi Alliance certification and being listed on Zauba, an Indian import and export tracking website.
