ZTE Axon 7 vs Moto Z Play: Price, Specs, Battery and Camera Face-off – Motorola Reportedly Scores in All Aspects? [VIDEO]

ZTE Axon 7 and Moto Z Play are among the choices of must-buy smartphones for 2017. But before anything else, let's find out how the two budget-friendly smartphones differ from each other and what handset has the overall advantage when it comes to price, specs, battery, camera and other features.

Display and Design

When it comes to display, ZTE Axon 7 has reportedly surpassed the standard by having a Quad HD 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 538 pixel density that resulted to great color reproduction and sharp contrast, while, Moto Z Play sports a 5.5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution according to Recombu.

On the other hand, Moto Z Play is considered to be more comfortable to clutch in the palm compared to ZTE Axon 7 which has raises eyebrows. The metallic edging of Moto Z Play helps protect the phone from scratches while ZTE surrounds Axon 7 with aluminum.

Performance and Battery Life

ZTE Axon 7 is said to be more powerful because of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM, whereas, Moto Z Play is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 alongside 3GB of RAM. According to Android Authority, Axon 7 is fit for multitasking because of its quadcore chipset that runs at 2.15GHz and 1.6GHz while Moto Z Play has reportedly received complains for the constant lags.

On the other hand, Axon 7 battery life is reportedly akin to Galaxy S7 that lasts six hours in a single charge while Moto Z Play has the longest battery life that runs for two days in a single charge as well including browsing the web, chat and stream videos.

Camera

When it comes to taking snapshots, Moto Z Play has an advantage over its rival because it sports a 16MP f/2.0 camera while ZTE Axon 7 sports a 20MP but with f/1.8 aperture. Accordingly, Moto Z Play takes quality photos than ZTE Axon 7 because its phase detection autofocus includes a laser guidance.
