Pokémon Uranium and AM2R have reportedly been dropped from the Best Fan Game category feature at The Game Awards. It is said that the nominee pool for the said category has been whittled down from four titles to just two. Apparently, Pokémon Uranium as well as Project AM2R were not among the titles that stayed at The Game Awards' site as the nominees for Best Fan Creation.

It should be noted that both Pokémon Uranium and AM2R are properties of Nintendo. Moreover, Pokémon Uranium and AM2R have also been forcefully ceased among Nintendo titles this year. Apparently, the company is still a sponsor of the 2016 Game Awards.

Neither Nintendo nor The Game Awards gave their comments on the disappearance of Pokémon Uranium and Project AM2R among the nominees. It has been expected that Nintendo will remain committed to protecting their properties my whatever means necessary, Destructoid reported. However, it is speculated that Nintendo would not want to give Pokémon Uranium and AM2R global exposure via a highly viewed awards show.

Note that the Pokémon game Pokémon Uranium was only recently released and was still trying to sell. With the exit of the two games, the nominees left are Brutal Doom 64 and the Enderal: The Shards of Order. Apparently, neither Pokémon Uranium nor AM2R will get to take home the hardware.

Meanwhile, a rare Pokémon card has reportedly been sold for more than $50,000. It is said that the Pokémon Illustrator card has recently been sold at an auction held by Heritage Auctions for $54, 970. It should be noted that only 39 Pokémon Illustrator cards have been released to the public. Furthermore, the cards were only given away as prizes for three different Pokémon illustration contests by CoroCoro Comic in the late '90s, Mashable reported.
