"Pokémon Sun and Moon" reportedly rolled out a more friendly collection of Pokémon creatures that includes the baby ghost Mimikyu and Pikachu-miming. The Pokémon Refresh feature was also added to encourage trainers to bond with their Pokémon even without playing with them.

Niantic recently rolled out a high-five mechanic in "Pokémon Sun and Moon." The new Pokémon Refresh feature is said to encourage trainers to bond with their Pokémon through feeding, petting as well as casual play. Trainers will also get to high-five with their Pokémon creatures by tapping the screen with a stylus right above the Pokémon's head.

The said "Pokemon Sun and Moon" feature is said to work best with "Pokémon Sun and Moon" monster that resemble animals. It is said that Pokémon like Litten, Meowth and Growlithe are more than willing to high-five with their trainers. Additionally, other bi-pedal and quadri-pedal Poké pets are said to join in the fun as well, Polygon reported.

Previously, Pokémon Amie was revealed in "Pokémon X and Y" that encouraged trainer-monster interaction. The feature is reportedly similar to the Pokémon Refresh in "Pokémon Sun and Moon." However, the previous feature did not include grooming tools to eliminate status effects. Apparently, Niantic reserved the improvements in the best game of the franchise.

In other news, a "Pokémon Sun and Moon" review claims that the Pokémon  creatures in-game are now more kind and gentle than in previous games. The 20-year old series is reportedly aimed at encouraging youngsters, newbies and the less experienced Pokémon trainers to join the game. Currently, there are reportedly more than 800 different kinds of Pokémon to keep track of, Wired reported.

"Pokémon Sun and Moon" reportedly encourages friendship and trading between players. Niantic also added a roleplay-shift as trainers get to perform caregiving tasks with their Pokémon creatures as well. The Islands of the Alola are also said to lend a laidback and friendly appeal to the game.
