By

Game developer Nexon today has released a new trailer for their upcoming new game "Need for Speed: Edge," which will now enter its third closed beta phase in South Korea.

For a beginner, Need for Speed: Edge is a free-to-play MMO racing video game that currently in development under EA Spearhead and published by Nexon in South Korea. The "Need for Speed: Edge" is the third installment in the racing video game franchise, and also the only racing video game in the market that will run on Frostbite 3 game engine.

The newly released trailer focuses on luxury supercars going at high speed and a number of different race tracks that will be made available in the upcoming game. It also features various multiplayer only routes that players need to finish.

There's also a reward system that given to the player at the end of each racing event. In addition, players can also grab power-ups along the race tracks to use against other players or improve their racing car, similar to what Pursuit Tech featured in Need for Speed: Rivals and in Need for Speed: World.

But the highlight of the game is the Frostbite game engine. Reports said that the "Need for Speed: Edge" will be using the extremely powerful game engine developed by EA DICE, the creators of the widely popular Battlefield series.

However, an earlier report said that the "Need for Speed: Edge" is not the only game currently in development, as EA and Ghost Games have announced earlier a new version of "Need For Speed" game for 2017 release. Not much information is known about this 2017 game, not even a hint.

No words on the game's official release date, but "Need for Speed: Edge" will be playable at the Nexon booth G-Star in Busan, South Korea.
