If you are wondering when iPhone will receive a huge overhaul, then 2017 could be the right time.

Apple rumor: iPhone 8 OLED panel from Samsung

A recent leak suggests a $4 billion order that Apple has been placing to Samsung. The 1-year contract is reportedly stating that Samsung will be supplying the OLED panel to the Cupertino giant.

iPhone's next iteration adopting OLED display is not a new rumor. Earlier this year, the talks have gone far, detailing technical aspects of iPhone 8. Aside from the AMOLED screen, iPhone 8 is said to be bezel-less.

That being said, tech crowd can expect a design similar to the previously-released concept phone, Xiaomi Mi Mix or something like the upcoming Meizu device.

However, we are talking about Apple. The company that ditches the headphone jack on your iPhone. Apple could be making a breakthrough with iPhone 8 and it may not be something we've seen before.

As a reminder, we've heard about Samsung's plan to release foldable Galaxy X next year but it turns out that Apple rumors also hint at a bendable screen for its iPhone iteration.

Apple rumor: iPhone 8 technical specs

The iPhone 8 is rumored to be released in three variants - all of which has glass cover instead of all-metal.

The 5.5-inch iPhone will be the top-tier phone rocking an AMOLED screen. Going further with the detail, Nikkei Asian Review claims that the iPhone 8 will feature curved display like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

Another analysis corroborating the rumor came from Ming-Chi Kuo, who has said that the upcoming iPhone 8, will feature OLED display, wireless charging and possibly an iris scanner, MacRumors reported.

This could indicate that Apple may be shifting to a much better display and build quality for its iPhone lineup next year.
