’X-Factor’ Judge Simon Cowell Not Standing In The Way Of Son’s Education Choice

By

In 2013, "X-Factor" Judge Simon Cowell dated Lauren Silverman. Later on, news came out that they were expecting a baby. This would be Simon Cowell's first child.

In February 14, 2014, his son Eric Cowell was born. He was named after his father, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, Sr.

Barely only two years old, he is already thinking about the future of his son and his choice of education. During a sit down interview with Professor Jonathan Shalit on BBC Radio 2, the famous producer admits that when he was a young boy, he found school boring, cites Hello Magazine. Cowell describes himself as not practically academic. When he was sixteen years old, he got out of school. His explanation being that there were too many rules and he was undecided at that time.

Cowell was born in Lambeth, London and attended Radlett Preparatory School. He then enrolled in Dover College. He did not stay long. He left Dover College after taking his GCE Ordinary Levels. He moved on to Windsor Technical College where he gained another GCE Level in Sociology. He then quit school and took in some odd jobs. He worked as a runner and worked in the mail room. He eventually got into music.

When it comes to his son, Simon Cowell says that he is not going to stand in the way of his son's choice of education. If his son decides to quit school at 16 years old, he will not stop him. But he stresses that if he is not going to school then he should find work instead, just like he did. He is going to support his son regardless. His encouragement comes from a place of experience.

Nicole Scherzinger, a fellow judge, describes Eric as a mini-Simon. She says that he is a clone of his father but he loves his dad. He does not give Scherzinger any attention.
