‘GoPro Hero 5’ Specs, Price, Release Date: Get ‘Hero 5 Black’, Karma Drone Bundle for $100 Less From the Original Price

Good news to all wanderlusts! "GoPro Hero 5" is about to hit the shelves with a twist. The cube-like travel buddy camera will come with a foldable, four-propeller rig Karma drone that has detachable three-axis gimbal for camera stabilization, 2 hours battery life and rechargeable batteries. The two come in a bundle for a very affordable price.

GoPro CEO Nick Woodman introduced the Hero5 Black edition and Session last Monday and discussed the cube-like camera's new feature. According to Forbes, the camera's new features include built-in touch screen LCD, waterproof even without the casing and voice control which can accommodate seven languages. But what sparked the interest is the device inside a backpack which is said to be the long rumored Karma drone.

The foldable and four-propeller rig is GoPro's first drone. Karma looks like a compact quadcopter that works when GoPro camera is attached to its gimbal for stabilization. Unlike other competitors, Karma does not carry the camera undercarriage where 360-degree video is allowed. However, the nice thing about Karma is capturing footage without disruptions like protruding features or propellers.

Furthermore, Karma comes with a controller having two joysticks and two buttons - one is for Karma's motor switch and one is for the automatic landing. Alongside the button is a wheel use for tilting the camera attached to the drone. The image quality is great according to The Verge where they tested the device on a high noon and was surprised when the screen is bright enough to be seen. Aside from that, the video never cut out even if shoot from a distance of 300m to 500m from the ground.

In addition, the battery life of the controller takes up to two hours but can be charged through the use of a spare Karma battery that last up to 20 minutes. Battery indication will appear in the LCD screen of the controller from green to orange to red for the critical level. Another nice thing about Karma is the automatic landing feature that works when the battery reaches critical level.

Karma will cost $799 but when purchases with a "GoPro Hero 5" Black Edition the price will be $1,099, whereas Karma and "GoPro Hero 5" Session will cost $999. Buying the bundle will have you $100 as savings from the original price. Karma will be released in October while "GoPro Hero 5" camera will be in September.
