Drew University Public Officer Arrested On Sexual Assault Charges
Emmanuel Brice, a 24-year-old Drew University public safety officer has been suspended from his position after being arrested on sexual assault charges Friday.
Along with Brice, Myron Damus, 26, and Franklin Simmons, 24, have been arrested by the Bergen County prosecutor's detectives at their homes. The arrests have come after a three-month investigation.
Each of the three men have been charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault.
All the three perpetrators from Morristown have been accused for sexually assaulting a 24-year-old Waldwick woman whom they met at a bar in Teaneck earlier this month. After the alleged assault, the victim immediately approached the Waldwick police, who then contacted the Bergen County Special Victims Unit. The woman was treated and released from the Hackensack University Medical Center.
Currently, the accused are being held at the Bergen County Jail with a bail amount of $250,000 with no 10 percent option. The arraignment is set for July 11 at the Waldwick Municipal Court.
Brice was employed at the Drew University's Department of Public Safety last year October as a dispatcher, and was promoted to probationary patrol officer earlier this month. He handles 911 operations and maintains patrol records.
On the other hand, Damus works at a communications firm in Bloomfield, and Simmons is with a pet grooming company in Morristown.
