A new leak spilled by credible source, Charles Anderson from Dougherty & Co analyst could shed the light to GoPro Hero 5 Black specs and release date.

The highlights of the specs include GPS-built system inside the thinner GoPro 5. Anderson who released a research note earlier, also stated that this will be the first action camera by GoPro to have a built-in GPS and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Another feature includes a thinner design up to 16 percent from its previous generation. The black model of this action camera will also receive improvements including better image quality.

The analyst said that there is no evidence of dual lenses for 360-degree image capture. It would be a disappointing news for those anticipating GoPro Hero 5 since this is the feature they wish the most, University Herald reported. Aside from this, the analyst also wrote a note on GoPro 5 Silver by stating that the FCC application is not yet filed.

Previously, a video leaked by a Reddit user named Konrad-iturbe shows the action camera appearance including the redesigned touch control interface. The 9-second video also shows the full touch screen without physical buttons, Indian Express reported.

The next GoPro Hero is expected to record in 4K with the capability for deep diving up to 60 meters. The action camera is rumored to pack 2,800 mAh battery to power up the upgraded specs. There has been a debate around its built-in GPS feature which could likely drain the power quickly.

Many rants also speculate that the release of GoPro Hero 5 will be alongside the Karma Drone. Speculations on why GoPro Hero 5 launch date is pushed back, is because the company wants to release the action camera and drone simultaneously.
