By

The latest game patch of the very record breaking mobile game "Pokémon Go" was released by Niantic. Update includes XP bug fixes, enhancements and a new Pokémon tracking feature.

Niantic, the game developer of the famous "Pokémon Go", released the 1.3.0 for android or 0.33.0 for iOS devices. The update fixes the way that the game rewards XP to Poke Ball throws as well as several reported bug fixes. The update also fixes the issues in the game where player's achievements lists inaccurate medal icons, Nintendo Everything reported.

There are previous bugs where the game does not reward XP bonuses to "Nice", "Great", and "Excellent" throws when catching a Pokémon. Players of the game can now change their name for only one time.

The battery saver mode is which was reported to have problems with iOS devices is now re-introduced to the game. The game developer, Niantic, noted that the issues regarding the feature are now fixed. There are also improvements in the curveball throws. The developers also added a driving warning in-game that reminds players to stop using "Pokémon Go" while driving.

There is also the addition of visuals for the leaders of each Team: Spark for Instinct, Blance for Mystic, and Candela for Valor.

The most interesting update included in the patch is the new Pokémon tracking feature. This replaced the previously removed three-footprint tracker. However, the new tracking feature is still on the testing phase and might still be removed if it does not function correctly. The feature is called 'Sightings' and it allows the players to view nearby Pokémon. There are reports mentioning that the new feature is a success, according to YIBADA.

The original three-footprint tracker has provided a way to assess the distance of the Pokémon. However, Niantic said that the feature did not give the expected results so they had it removed in July.

Whether Niantic would still improve and add enhancements to the 'Sightings' feature, there is no confirmation yet.
