Comic-Con 2016: Arrow Season 5 New Trailer Teases The Season's New Villain; Find Out Who All Joined Team Arrow [VIDEO]

Team Arrow is slated to reassemble in Season 5, and they will be joined by a slew of new team members. The first trailer of "Arrow Season 5" was unveiled during the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel, showing off the new lineup that will be part of the action alongside Oliver Queen before blowing the lid of the season's new heel, Prometheus.

Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is slated to square off against a new archer antagonist named Prometheus - a name that has been used by a slew of DC Comics characters - but he is not Grant Morrison-created DC Comics character.

According to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, the new character aptly fits the motif of legacy this year that is going to propel every "Arrow Season 5" character, including the big bad.

"He's pretty badass," Guggenheim adds about the new villain, Entertainment Weekly reported.

As Oliver toils to rebuild Team Arrow, he will rely on Thea (Willa Holland) to a great extent as far as handling the business of being mayor is concerned.

Aside from the newcomers, joining the team are Madison McLaughlin who is slated to reprise her role as Evelyn Sharp, Rick Gonzalez who will portray the role of Wild Dog and Echo Kellum who will be back as Curtis Holt.

The show's panel also divulged that Katie Cassidy will be making her return in the fifth season - though she was killed off last season - and that the show's 100th episode will coincide with the planned crossover slated to happen among all of The CW's DC shows, IGN reported.

The panel concluded with Barrowman, Rickards, Amell and new series regular Echo Kellum charming the audience with an amiable interpretation of "You'll Be Back" from Hamilton, and the rest of the cast and the audience joining in at the end.

"Arrow Season 5" is slated to return on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
