'Tekken 7' Release Date Set For 2017? Game Console To Be Launched On Different Platforms

"Tekken" will surely return, however, its release date is more likely in 2017.

The "Tekken" fighting game franchise is considered by gamers to be one of the longest-running and epic fighting games, and it's reported that it will return for another bout of intense action. Game developer Bandai Namco will be unveiling another installment in the Tekken game franchise dubbed as "Tekken 7," Ecumenical News reported.

The said title was shown at the much awaited Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 two weeks ago, and gaming fans can hardly wait to get their hands on it.

The game developer stated that the upcoming Tekken installment will be launched on different platforms around the first quarter of 2017. In a very recent interview with PlayStation Blog, Tekken game director Katsuhiro Harada gave out some reasons why the next Tekken installment will be the fighting title fans need to be anticipating.

He said that their team wants to provide players with an immersive gaming experience and still get hooked into it even if they're just watching cutscenes during gameplay.

As previously reported, the insane Akuma, also known as Gouki in the Japanese "Street Fighter" franchise, will also enter the roster to bring more mayhem in the upcoming Tekken game. Harada explained that fans were a little worried that since Akuma has long-range attacks in his arsenal, the character might gain an unfair advantage during a match, however, there are other characters in the game that also have similar moves like Devil Jin's laser beam.

Harada also shared details on the new Rage mode feature that's divided directly in two classes. The first will be the so-called Rage Drive, which is a series of connecting moves called combos that will dish out major damage to other players.

Meanwhile, Rage Art can be considered a game changer since it can be done when the player's character is running low on health or in the red.

Moreover, Harada also unveiled at this year's E3 the new characters in the ever expanding roster of "Tekken" fighters, which include characters, Claudio from Italy, the new Brazilian addition Katarina, the Middle Eastern Shaheen, another Japanese fighter named Lucky Chloe, and Josie Rizal from the Philippines.

As stated, there is still no definite date yet as to when "Tekken 7" will grace gamers with its presence, however, some reports say that it could be early 2017
