Apple is trying to keep their foot on the gas pedal with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, releasing the handset in 36 new markets before the end of the month.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple said they are preparing the swiftest rollout in the history of the company, as they will put the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in 69 countries and territories by the end of Oct. Kicking off the massive rollout will be Friday with China, the largest smartphone market in the world.

The new handset set a record for opening weekend sales, Apple previously announced, selling 10 million units out of the gate. Topping the company's expectations, Apple struggled to keep the supply up with the demand.

Apple's new handset launched Sept. 19 in 10 countries including the U.S. and has been on the market for nearly a month.

According to a report translated by Digitimes, the Chinese have placed more than 20 million pre-orders for the new iPhones between Oct. 10 and 13. Half the orders reportedly came from the Jingdong Mall website and were split nearly even between the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Apple is expected to unveil new iPads in an event on Thursday, Oct. 16, as well as new MacBooks and iMacs and the new desktop operating system. While iPhones have been soaring off shelves, Apple needs to break a strong of two consecutive down quarters for iPad sales.
