Google is said to be refreshing its Pixel devices with two variants dubbed as Walleye and Taimen. Recently surfaced reports suggest that the Pixel XL 2 smartphone is geared for radical enhancements. Google's Pixel XL 2 will come with a 5.99-inch OLED display with the bezels pushed to the edge and the device will be manufactured by LG.
XDA-Developers, a mobile software development community, made it known that they've got the specs of the Pixel XL 2 from a source, which has spent time with the mobile device. The Google Pixel XL 2, which will be called the Taimen, will come along with a 5.99-inch display size with a 1440p OLED panel. Also, the Google Pixel XL 2 will be available with a totally bezel-less display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45GHz paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, Indian Express reported.
The Taimen is more premium compared to the Walleye or the original Pixel device. In terms of design approach, the upcoming Taimen will boast a slightly tweaked two-tone metal as well as a glass rear. But, the glass window of the device will be located near the top, which means the Taimen would no longer enclose the fingerprint sensor, Value Walk reported.
Meanwhile, the Walleye appears to be available close to the regular Apple iPhone, but the display of the upcoming mobile device will feature a 4.97-inch along with a 1080p screen resolution. As the search engine titan is set to use the same design language of last year's Pixel devices, this could indicate that the Pixel 2 is the original model's near replica.
It is understood that Walleye and Taimen will stick to the single camera lens setup, which means the tech giant intends to skip the dual camera setting. On release date, Google's Pixel 2 2017 upgrades will be the first devices to sport Google's version 8.0 mobile operating system.
